Resistors

Resistors
The components are being the heart of the electric circuit, with out the electronic components it is unable to fulfill the electric circuit.

In electric theory there are two types of elements
1.  Active elements
 2. passive elements
         The elements which gives the energy to the circuit in the form of electric source is known as Active elements. The elements which accept the source is known as passive elements.
Examples for active elements : voltage source & current source

Examples for passive elements : Resistance, Inductance & capacitance.

component
units
symbol
Resistor (R)
Ohms

Inductor (L)
Henry

Capacitor (C)
Farad

Now, we discuss about the working of each of the component
Resistor : It is property of a material by which it opposes the flow of currernt through it . The resistance of element is denoted by the symbol `R`.
* The units are ohms

    In the post of ohms law we discussed about the resistor and its properties, now we will see the over view of it
                               R = ρ*L/A
Where   L= Length of the conductor
              A= Area of cross section of the conductor
             ρ= proportionality constant
From ohms law V = IR
  For finding voltage         V=IR
For finding current           I=V/R
For finding resistance      R=v/I

The resistor in laplace domain is given as                                                     v(s) = I(s)*R
Impedance      z(s) = v(s)/I(s)
Admittance     Y(s) = I(s)/v(s)
Here a question arises that what is impedance ?for this the conclusion is we have two types of electric currents one is AC and other is DC.
 In DC network we call it as resistance
conductance : It is the reciprocal of resistance* The conductance is denoted by `G`
                               G = 1/R
                               G = 1/v/i
                            G = i/v
* The units are mho.
 In Ac network we call it as impedance
Admittance : It is the reciprocal of impedance
  * The admittance is denoted by the letter `Y`
                     Y = 1/Z
                      Y = i/v
 * The units are siemens.
The resistor colour coding is one of the important topic to the student, he want to find the resistor value for performing experiments. The simple way to analyze the resistor colour coding is given below:

* The colour coding is easily remember by the following sentence:
